Set up your website in minutes.
We'll help you set it up by email or on a Zoom call. Write to pagerock@pagerock.com.
Step 1: Add a domain
After you sign up, the account manager opens. Add one domain or several, and preview each site instantly.
Step 2: Edit your menu, settings and home page
Each new domain starts with these files:
settings.txt
title domain.com
description Welcome to domain.com
paypal
settings.txt sets your site's title and description. To sell items, put your PayPal account's email address after "paypal".
menu.txt
/ Home
/store/ Store
/blog/ Blog
/mailing_list/ Mailing List
menu.txt lists your menu, one item per line: the link, a space, then the label.
content.txt
Welcome to the home of domain.com.
content.txt is your home page. To add a page, create a folder named after its address — a folder called "about" appears at http://www.yourdomain.com/about/ — and put the page's text in that folder's content.txt. Links use [text|link]. To show an image, upload it and type its file name. Standard HTML works too.
Step 3: Upload or import files
Click "Upload Files" in the account manager, choose your files and wait for the upload to finish. To show a file on a page, type its name in that page's content.txt.
To move an existing site, create a folder for each page and paste its text into that folder's content.txt. Save its images to your computer, then upload them.
Step 4: Activate your domain
To put your site on your domain, click "Activate" next to it in the account manager. To check whether a new domain is free, type it next to "Check Availability" and click that button.
You're billed the monthly or annual price on the order form, including the domain if you're buying one. A new domain can take up to 48 hours to reach the whole internet.
Using a domain you already own? After activating it, sign in to your registrar, delete the DNS records for "www", and add a CNAME record pointing "www" to "www.pagerock.com". To find your registrar, look up your domain at http://whois.icann.org/. If you get stuck, contact us and we'll help.
Step 5: Use advanced features (optional)
These tags run on our patent-pending technology.
